About Yogi Bhajan On December 2nd, 2001, Yogi Bhajan taught and explained the benefits of
holding the Bound Lotus posture for duration of 31 minutes. In researching Bound Lotus within other disciplines of yoga, the
standard duration for holding the posture is for 1-3 minutes only, and is
used at the end of a yoga series rather than a complete posture in itself.
Yogi Bhajan instructed me to practice Bound Lotus daily for 31 minutes,
and after 2 years, he requested that I teach it. He said “Tell them
that it will serve them in their future. I cannot force anyone to do it, I
can only recommend it.” - Yogi Bhajan Yogi Bhajan, born in India on August 26th, 1929, became a Master of
Kundalini Yoga at the age of 16? under the tutelage of the great Master
Sant Hazara Singh. Yogi Bhajan came to the United States in 1969, and
began teaching Kundalini Yoga, also know as the “Yoga of Awareness”.
Before this time, this sacred technology was passed only from Master to
Student, and was never taught openly. Kundalini Yoga is a science that
works on all different levels (physical, emotional, mental and spiritual)
and has the capacity to change a person’s destiny. Yogi Bhajan always told his students that he did not come here to gather disciples, but rather to train teachers. There are currently thousands of certified Kundalini Yoga Instructors around the world.
